Updated: Jun 3

Welcome to our May newsletter! As well into spring, and this month brings a fresh wave of exciting updates and opportunities. From the latest advancements in our projects to upcoming events designed to foster community and collaboration, there's something for everyone. Dive in and discover what's new this month!

HERE ARE SOME THINGS WE DID

Connect. Collaborate. Create.

On May 17th, we had the pleasure of hosting our inaugural Emeryville Artist Dinner. A heartfelt thank you goes out to our gracious host, the 45th Street Artist Cooperative, for welcoming the artist community to their inspiring property. It was a memorable evening with over 75 artists who filled the space with vibrant conversations, creative networking, and a celebration of artistic talent. During the event we shared upcoming news about our soon to be announced space, where we will be able to showcase RCCD funded events and activations; future opportunities for collaboration on larger marquee events, upcoming grants and news about the new art center. We are grateful for the support and enthusiasm of everyone who attended, making it a night to remember. Delicious dinner showcased food by local Emeryville culinary creators: Summer Summer Thai and tasty dessert lemon bars and brownies from Natty Cakes.

RECAP of ABG curated Artist Showcase x Lowney Architecture: feat. Artists Erin Fong and Will Brown

The captivating art exhibition, which showcased the dynamic works of Erin Fong and Will Brown, was a mesmerizing experience for all who attended. In partnership with Lowney Architecture, the event immersed guests in an exploration of color, texture, and creativity; while mixing and mingling and strengthening new networking relationships.

On May 9th, visitors stepped into a world where bold, bright colors united with organic landscapes and natural textures. Erin Fong's compositions brought a sense of energetic color, inviting exploration of feelings, emotions, and abstract imagination. Meanwhile, Will Brown's serene canvases transported viewers to tranquil realms of natural beauty, where florals and serene settings blended with the hard and soft textures of environmental elements.

Set against the backdrop of Lowney Architecture, the exhibit was the interplay between art and architecture, offering attendees a glimpse into the harmonious relationship between creativity and structural design. To view the available pieces please visit the "Exhibit" page HERE

ABG and District Works speak at BOMA's event "Exploring the World of Pop-Up Leases: Opportunities and Challenges"

ABG Art Group and partners District Works sat as industry experts at BOMA Oakland/East Bay's April educational luncheon. This event dove into the evolving landscape of commercial real estate and the concept of pop-up leases. This luncheon offered a comprehensive look at the unique opportunities and challenges presented by the innovative leasing model.

Trent Thompson (ABG) and Steve Snyder (District Works) shared invaluable insights on how pop-up leases are reshaping traditional leasing and revolutionizing property management strategies. From discussions on flexibility and governing incentives to the strategic advantages of testing new markets or products, participants were equipped with an understanding of the dynamic forces at play. Managers left the event equipped with the tools and insights to navigate the complexities of modern leasing dynamics to reshape the landscape of commercial real estate.
